This eclectic lodge, built from the ground up and nestled among a redwood grove in Guerneville, CA, serves as a cozy retreat for clients who primarily live in San Francisco's  Castro District. The design aesthetic blends colorful, artsy, and zen elements, while the functional requirements focus on outdoor living and entertaining. The outdoor space features a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with a grill, prep station, sink, beverage fridge, and a large Italian pizza oven. Additional amenities include a fireside lounge and an onsen tub with a custom surround that wraps around three redwood trees. The planting mirrors the material selection by using colorful evergreen plants in contrast with a dark backdrop.
