The clients of this Modern Ranch Farmhouse expressed a desire to elevate the landscape to be more like a resort, with an entry that had much more grandeur and clarity, to guide guests to the main entry instead of the covered patio, adjacent to the lawn. With adding olive trees, and board form concrete retaining wall  to screen the view of the driveway, this aided in a more clear path to the front and improved the view looking out. Adding sculptural planting, including Strawberry Trees, Tiny Tower Cypress, Olive Trees, and Ginko Trees, also added to the views from the inside of the house looking out, and provided a nice contrast with the added grasses and groundcovers. A zen garden area on the sideboard was also a highlight to include a meditation area, with rock bubbler, and sculptural metal art screen as a focal point from the inside of the master bathroom, looking out. Lastly, intentionality was made in material selection to bring cohesion to the various living spaces, including the firepit area, meditation area, and meandering pathways in the garden.
